IDS Group Test (Edition 3) Following the launch of Edition 2 major group test report , which specifically targeted Gigabit-capable IDS products in the most advanced test of its kind - we are pleased to announce that we will be preparing a third� edition during Q1 2005.� With Gigabit networking products continually reducing in price and complexity, today�s networks are rapidly moving beyond the typical shared 100Mbit infrastructure and into high-speed � 1000Mbit and beyond�� switched architectures. This presents a whole host of new problems for the security administrator who will quickly find that Intrusion Detection Systems designed for the 100Mbit environment can no longer cope. Enter a whole new breed of Gigabit-capable products. This group test sees the continued evolution of our advanced testing methodology for Gigabit IDS products, including the use of brand new attack generation tools and advanced background traffic generation tools capable of simulating millions of real-life users and many genuine sessions at up to Gigabit wire speed.
