Browser
We recommend the following standard web browsers for the best representation of your WebSuxess HTML reports:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 4.x and higher
• Netscape Navigator Version 4.x and higher
• Netscape Communicator Version 4.x and higher
• Opera Browser Version 3.51 and higher

Print
To print a page of statistics, use the right mouse button click on the link displayed in the navigation frame to the left of the window. In the pop-up window, select "Open in New Window." After the page opened in a new window and without the surrounding frame, select the option "Print" from the browser "File" menu. In the next window, click on "OK."
Note: For the Internet Explorer make sure you have activated the option Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Printing > Print background colors and images.

Navigate
The HTML report of WebSuxess consists of a navigation frame and a statistics frame.
You will always find the navigation frame on the far left of the window. Click on any of the links listed to display the corresponding evaluations in the statistics frame.
Click on the column header links in the statistics frame to sort the table by the values of that column. The graphic will be changed accordingly.
A few statistics frames also include links to pages which you can follow, e.g. to repeat a visitor's search query to your web site with a search engine.

Glossary

• AdClick
  An AdClick (more generally also called Referrer) is the link of the last web page a visitor accessed before entering your web site.
  
• Authentication
  The procedure verifying a client's registration data. A server that contains streaming services can be configured to authenticate clients before granting access to these streaming services.
  
• Authorization
  The procedure granting or denying access to clients. A server that contains streaming services can be configured to authorize clients when they demand access to these streaming services.
  
• Domain
  A name of a network that is part of the Internet. It compares to a "corporate address on the Internet," for example, "hlp.de." There are "top level domains" and "second level domains." The top level domain is given in the last part of the domain name which usually signifies a country or a type of organization, like ".de" for Germany or ".com" for commercial organizations. The second level domain usually specifies a company within the top level domain, in our case "hlp.de" for HLP Information Management GmbH.
  
• Hit
  Request for any object (be it text, graphics, an ad banner or sound) to a web server. Each request is recorded in the log file.
  
• Host and host name
  A computer connected to the Internet. Each host is universally identifiable by means of its unique IP address. Since IP addresses are difficult to remember, many computers have an additional host name. Domain name servers are responsible for matching IP addresses and host names.
  
• IP address
  Abbreviation for Internet Protocol number. A unique number universally identifying each host.
  
• IVW - Informationsgemeinschaft zur Feststellung der Verbreitung von Werbeträgern e.V.
  The IVW is a neutral German auditing institution. According to its charter, its purpose is to procure and provide comparable and objective documentation about the dissemination of advertising media for the purpose of promoting truth and clarity in advertising and thus to ensure genuine competition.
  
• Log file
  A file recorded by a web server containing information about the use of a web site.
  
• Online service
  An information and service provider for subscribed users, like AOL, CompuServe or T-Online. Online services frequently also offer Internet access.
  
• Page view
  Each time an individual web site page is displayed and thus (at least in theory) viewed.
  
• Provider
  Also called "ISP" for Internet Service Provider. A company that offers access to the Internet. Besides commercial providers, these may also be an online service or a university.
  
• Referrer
  See AdClick above.
  
• Streaming
  Transmission of audio and/or video content more or less in real time between a client and the server. Data does not travel in separate packages between which the client connects to and disconnects from the server several times, as it does when loading text content.
  This requires a steady stream of data, coupled with relatively short answer times. Streaming software often uses extension modules to enable streaming on the Internet, which was not designed to handle such applications.
  
• Search engine
  A program that helps you find information on the Internet. The most popular examples are Altavista and Lycos.
  
• (Web) server
  A program which runs on a computer connected to the Internet and which supplies web pages to other Internet users. The computer on which this program runs is likewise known as a (web) server.
  
• URL
  Abbreviation for "unique resource locator." A universally unique designation for an Internet resource, for example, a web site page.
  
• Visit
  Each time someone accesses a web site and moves around on it, visiting different pages, without pauses exceeding the visit time-out.
