Entrust pricing includes a perpetual user license for enterprise IDs, one-time fees for server products, and no additional charges for new updates and new versions of the software as part of their maintenance and support agreement.
There are four components that are typically priced in any Entrust solution:
1. Server component � this consists of the Entrust/PKI (Entrust/Authority, Entrust/RA). Server components are priced on a per server basis and are a one-time charge.
2. Entrust ID (or certificates) �This provides the capability to use the Entrust/Entelligence software. The Entrust ID is a one time fee charged on a per user basis (volume discounts are offered), and provides a perpetual license. This means, there are no additional charges when a user�s keys and certificate are renewed, and they can be renewed as many times as required at no additional cost.
The Entrust product family also offers the flexibility for unmanaged solutions which do not provide automatic key life cycle management. In these solutions, certificates are issued for applications such as Web authentication, S/MIME e-mail, or remote access VPN. Entrust charges a per certificate fee which is renewable annually, and discounts are offered for volume purchases (see web certificate pricing)
3. Applications � Entrust offers a family of applications for various business requirements, such as desktop security, secure e-mail, or remote access, that can be deployed with the PKI - these applications are also priced on a per user basis and volume discounts are offered.
4. Service � Entrust provides software support and maintenance for technical support and software updates, as a percentage of the overall software cost (typically 18%).
Product Costs
The following provides a typical scenario for a single application, such as secure Web access for 100, 1000, 10,000, 100,000 and 1 million users. All prices are as per Entrust�s International List Price, in U.S. dollars. The charges for the Entrust software provide a perpetual license for the user.
Required products are as follows:
Entrust/PKI
A single application of an Entrust-Ready application, such as Entrust/Direct, or Entrust/Unity � this includes an Entrust/ID for a single application, with full automatic and transparent key life cycle management.
Organisations will also require a directory that is LDAP compliant
Note on Multiple Application Licensing:
For organisations that are deploying two or more applications, Entrust offers a multiple application license. This allows the same ID to be used across an unlimited number of applications integrated with the PKI.

Note on Web Certificate Pricing:
Where a fully managed Entrust ID is not required, Web Certificates may be purchased as described earlier. This is for issuing certificates to off-the-shelf web browsers and servers. These web certificates are considered consumable with a lifetime of up to 2 years.

To issue Web Certificates, the Entrust/WebConnector product is required at $6,250.
The Entrust/AutoRA product is available for Web Certificates as an optional component as priced above.
Summary of Entrust Pricing Model
Perpetual User license for the Entrust/ID means that a user�s keys and certificates can be updated as many times as required at no additional cost
The same keys and certificate can be used across all applications that are integrated with the PKI � this means a user only requires one ID for all of their Entrust-Ready applications;
No costs associated with the Entrust/RA � any number of RAs can be deployed with no additional Entrust software costs;
Watch out for the fact that you need to purchase by certificate (rather than by user) when using the Web model, which can become expensive in an organisation where users require large numbers of certificates.
